The Pharisees once asked Jesus when the kingdom of God would come. Here was His reply: “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21
Sometimes we struggle through this life looking for or waiting for something that is already within us. Most of us fail to achieve our full potential because we are looking for success from without.
Here are key proven ways to awaken the giant within you and live the life you desire.
First, set clear goals. Probably you have heard this several times before. Allow me to repeat it. Before you achieve a goal you must set it. Set wholesome goals covering broad areas such as spiritual, health, relationships, financial, career and so on. Success in one area cannot compensate lack in another area.
Second, remember you are never stuck. Stuck mentality leads to despair and hopelessness. Some people live with a feeling that they are stuck in a job, relationship, business, church or any other situation. This is the greatest deception ever conceived by the human mind.
You are a free being! The truth is you are in control of your life. Take charge and claim the kingdom within you.
Third, you need self-discipline without which you will never achieve anything worthy in life. Nothing can substitute self-discipline. Your goals, the challenges you face, and the tasks that you need to do can all be overcome so long as you have enough discipline.
Fourth, search and find yourself. Honest self-evaluation and judgment is something very few people truly have. Your ability to look at yourself honestly and evaluate your strengths and shortcomings is an incredibly valuable asset.
It is impossible to set goals and plans to achieve them if you don’t know what you are capable and incapable of. It’s difficult to maximize your strengths and overcome your weaknesses if you aren’t sure what those strengths and weaknesses are.
Fifth, develop a not-to-do list. Many people have a daily to-do list which helps them to be productive and achieve more. If you don’t have one, I highly recommend it. However, the most important things in your journey of success are not the things you do daily. They are the things you don’t do. Therefore developing a list of the things you need to quit immediately in order to achieve your full potential is vital. They include saying no to negative thoughts, bad habits, addiction of any kind and people who are toxic to your growth.
Sixth, you need other people. Work and collaborate with others in win-win relationships. You will never make it on your own. Spot strength in other people that can compliment your weaknesses and weaknesses in other people that you can complement with your strength and forge mutually beneficial relationships.
Finally, de-clutter your life. There are so many burdens that we carry that clutter our lives. Some of them are emotional, physical or social. Baggage such as refusing to let go, bitterness, hatred, greed and jealousy will needlessly drug you in a competitive world.
Awaken the Giant within You!!!
